Ana Paula García Benavides (b.1996, Monterrey México) is a London based artist.
I see art not only as a form of expression, but as a portal back to the self. I paint as an act of remembering of returning to a deeper, more truthful voice that exists beneath thought, noise, and constructed identities.
Each work becomes a bridge: an invitation to turn inward. My paintings create spaces where emotions can exist without judgment, where the unspoken is given form, and where the invisible materializes through texture, colour, and gesture.
My practice is rooted in opening and awakening. I am interested in the quiet, intimate moment when a viewer encounters themselves through an image. The work does not offer answers; it functions as a mirror, a vessel, a subtle ritual of recognition.
For me, the power of art lies in its ability to reveal who we are when no one is watching when we allow ourselves to be seen, and when we finally dare to look inward
